HUFFETY PUFFETY!  UP WENT THE SMOKE!

HIGH UP IN THE SKY SHOT LITTLE ORANGE FLAMES.

THE LITTLE VOLCANO SPOUTED AND LAUGHED.

THIS WAS AS FUN AS A WHOLE DAY OF GAMES!

OUT SQUIRTED LAVA THAT FELL THROUGH THE AIR

AND RAN DOWN THE SLOPES AND INTO THE SEA.

UP CAME THE ASHES AND PIECES OF ROCK

THAT CAUSED ALL THE PEOPLE IN TOWN TO FLEE.

LITTLE VOLCANO WAS HAVING SUCH FUN,

BLOCKING THE CLOUDS AND THE SKY AND THE SUN,

MAKING THE PEOPLE AND ANIMALS RUN.

HE MADE EVERYONE LEAVE, EXCEPT FOR ONE.

A MAN WITH A BEARD WASN’T SCARED AT ALL.

A MILE AWAY HE WAS ON THE SHORE

TAKING PICTURES AND NOTES HE SAT AND WATCHED

THE LITTLE VOLCANO, WAITING FOR MORE.

VOLCANO TRIED HARD TO SCARE HIM AWAY

WITH HOT FOAMING LAVA AND BURNING ROCKS.

HE SHOT UP SOME ASHES AND BLEW UP SMOKE

BUT THE MAN JUST BENT AND PULLED UP HIS SOCKS.

THE NAUGHTY VOLCANO WAS TIRED NOW

BUT HIS HOT LITTLE BRAIN HATCHED UP A PLAN.

ACTING AS THOUGH HE WAS ALL OUT OF FLAMES

HE RESTED AND WATCHED THE BRAVE LITTLE MAN.

THE LITTLE MAN WAITED TIL ALL WAS CALM,

THEN STARTED WALKING TOWARDS THE BLACK HILL.

NOTHING WAS MOVING, NOT EVEN A LEAF

AND EVEN THE AIR WAS VERY STILL.

THE MAN TOOK PHOTOS AND WROTE IN HIS NOTES

THEN FLIPPED OUT HIS CELLPHONE TO MAKE A CALL

NOW WAS THE TIME, AND SO UP SHOT SOME FLAMES!

BUT THE MAN DIDN’T SEEM FRIGHTENED AT ALL!

THEN THE VOLCANO SHOT SMOKE, ASH AND FLAMES.

THE MAN HAD A SUIT THAT KEPT OUT THE HEAT.

NEXT CAME THE LAVA THAT SLID DOWN THE HILL.

NOW THE MAN RAN BUT UH OH! TOOK A SPILL!

AH HA! THE VOLCANO THOUGHT TO HIMSELF.

NOW I CAN GET HIM AND NOW HE IS MINE!

BUT WHEN THE LAVA WAS TEN FEET AWAY

A STRANGE SOUND WAS HEARD, LIKE A ROARING WHINE.

THE MAN LOOKED UP HIGH AND THERE WERE HIS FRIENDS--

FLYING A CHOPPER THEY THREW A ROPE OUT.

THEY’D ANSWERED HIS CALL, AND LEFT RIGHT AWAY

THE MAN KNEW THEY’D COME.  HE HAD NOT A DOUBT.

AWAY THEY ALL FLEW THROUGH THE CLOUDS AND ASH.

AND LITTLE VOLCANO WAS OH SO MAD!

THE MAN SHOWED HIS PICTURES AROUND THE WORLD

AND AS FOR VOLCANO, OH WELL, TOO BAD!
